In America, of course the most liked and played sport is by far American football. Although many people argue it is the best sport in the world. And this is where I disagree, although in America the most played sport is football, Soccer is the most played sport in the world. This is why I think that soccer is by far the most loved and played sport in the world and will eventually grow into the US to be the most played sport.
First off Id like to base my opinion off of history. The origins of soccer dates way back into 2500 BC starting off where Greece, China, and Egypt have all partaken the sport where you use your feet and involves a ball. The closest relation to the game back then was a game called Tsu-Chu, to where you use your feet to get a leather ball into a net posted up by two post. The only difference to the game was the height of the goal.
This evolved into the most played sport in the world, Modern day soccer/futbol. And I think another reason that I think soccer will be the most played sport in America in a couple of decades is the World cup. This sporting event is takes place every 4 years and is the single most watched sporting event in the world. Now the reason I think that soccer will eventually out rule American football is the stats from the last world cup. Brazil received 7.1 billion US dollars from the revenue of the American attendance, America had the most attendance in the country other than the host which was Brazil.
The nest point I have to offer is that soccer has been getting extremely popular in the USA, This is mainly coming from youth soccer. In 1974 it was recorded that youth soccer participants were 1.6 million. Although it was recorded that the youth participants in 2014 were more that 3 million participants just that year. That is not only more youth participants that baseball but a whopping 1 million more participants that youth tackle football. I guess parents don't want there kids slamming into each other head to head, Smart.
My last and final support that soccer is going to be the most played sport in America in a couple of decades is that it was recorded in 2015 the women's world cup viewers tied the NCAA men's basketball finals. with 28 million viewers from both the women's world cup and the men's NCAA basketball finals they came head to head as a tie.
In conclusion I think that as it being 2017 now the game of soccer has grown even more than ever, Because when you think about it I was giving stats form 2 to 3 years ago, I just want you to imagine what would the stats show today in the present. And with the 2018 world cup launching in Russia soccer will probably double the attendance in Brazil to Russia. This is why I personally it won't take long for soccer to make its mark as the most played sport in America.
